John is a graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama,
graduating in 2011.

Prior to John becoming a Lighting Designer in his own right,
he was on the road for 10 years
assisting and re-creating other Lighting Designer’s work around the world taking him to places such as Shanghai, Paris, Milan, and Oslo to name but a few!

John’s designs have been seen UK and Internationally including Swan Lake On Ice (Milan), The UK Tours of ‘Some Enchanted Evening’, ‘Speakeasy ’22 & ’23’ & ‘Bobby Robson Saved My Life’ and most recently; ‘Peter Pan on Ice’ (UAE Tour) and coming up, Cinderella on Ice in South Africa.

John holds close relationships with venues up and down the UK including The Customs House in South Shields, productions including ‘The Wasp’, ‘Dolly Mixtures the Musical’,
‘My Uncle Freddie’ amongst many other’s including 4 glorious pantomimes.

Other close relationships with venues such as Alphabetti, an original writing space, and productions have included; ‘Chop Dissolve Burn’, ‘Person Spec’, ‘Brotherhood’ ‘Soapbox Racer’ & ‘Tree’ and since 2019, has lit numerous production’s as a visiting Lighting Designer at Guildford School of Acting including the UK’s first licensed production of Boublil and Schönberg’s ‘The Pirate Queen’ and ‘Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn’
